Places to Eat in Pacific Beach

For those of you new to Pacific Beach, or just visiting, I have compiled a list of virtually all of the places to eat in Pacific Beach.  Having lived here most of my adult life (If you can really call spending your early 20′s in PB adulthood), I have compiled my favorites, as well as all other sources of food from which I have been know to forage.

My Favorites

Cotijas’ - I consider myself an expert on Southern California Mexican food, and this is my all around favorite.  In my book, you can judge a good Mexican food joint on 3 things.  Beans, Rice and Salsa.  Cotijas’ nails them all.  I would put their salsa head to head against anyones.  Not only are the burritos huge, the price is unbeatable.  It is possible to stuff 3 people for under $10 bucks!  Personal Recommendation- Breakfast Burrito add Fries.

Poor Boy’s Subs- This place has the freshest meats in Pacific Beach because they are sliced to order.  The bread is fresh and the toppings selection is excellent.  Pick any of them (including the veggie) and you won’t be disappointed.  Personal Recommendation- The Belly Buster on Wheat.

Cafe Athena-This traditional Greek restaurant is a great date spot.  The atmoshpere is light and bright, and the plesant bustle makes for an awkward free evening.  Personal Recommendation-  The Chicken Aioli Pita Sandwich.

Hoboken Pizza-  This San Diego kid would eat here daily if Pizza and Beer were the only things needed to survive.  Thin crust excellence with afternoon beer specials makes this a great place to start the evening.  Or finish it with their delivery going until 2am nightly.  The Boss would be proud.  Personal Recommendation- My Way white Pizza.

Costa Brava- This is a Hidden Jewel in Pacific Beach.  Tucked away on Ingraham, This Spanish Restaurant is a great and lively time.  Eating tapas and drinking Sangria while while enjoing a live  Flamanco dancer perform is a great way to spend an evening.

Rocky’s-Possibly the best burger in San Diego.  If there isn’t a grease spot on the bag before you get home, you probably didn’t eat at Rocky’s
